The 2016 South Central SETAC meeting was held at Texas Christian University from April 22nd-24th. Seventy-two students and professionals from 12 universities, 2 governmental organizations and 2 corporations participated in the meeting. The meeting included a half-day career workshop for students featuring leaders/mentors from academia, industry and government; a full day of oral and poster presentations; and a half day bird watching trip/nature hike at the Fort Worth Nature Center. Participating organizations included TCU, Baylor, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, University of North Texas, University of Houston-Clear Lake, University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas Tech, Texas Southern University, Texas State University, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Shell, Exxon, Lee College and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Several students platform and poster presentations received awards as indicated below. Each of these students received funds to support travel to the SETAC World Congress in Orlando, FL.
